1st Round

The first round of the Argentinian Rally Championship took place in Mina Clavero (Cordoba) between Feb 20-22 2004. This dayview for Silverstone Rally tyres in argentina's main Rally Championship was most successful, since they took all classes as a monomarque and experienced no problems whatsoever.

It all begun with a press conference on Thursday Feb 19, 2004 where Silverstone was introduced as co-sponsor and official tyre supplier of this world class championship.

This event took place at the Silverstone tent at RallyHQ ans was headed by Mr. Gabriel Raies (17 times Argentinian Rally Champion and President of the Championship), Mr Paul Handal, Mr Fabian Barattero and Mr Gerardo Klus.

Silverstone in Argentina provided the Championship with semi truck which is used as a press room, rally office and control room. This truck displays the Silverstone logos and tyres in a very efficient way.

Technical verification of all 61 cars participation in the rally took place on Friday Feb 20, at 12 pm sharp. Silverstone was part of this event with two models wearing special made outfits. All cars taking place in the rally must wear Silverstone stickers as a compulsory rule.

The same Friday night, after a great show attended by more than 10,000 people, start off ramp was iniciated by the main cars.

On Saturday begun race day, and Silverstone official dayview on one of the toughest primes of Argentina's Rally Championship ....the Giulio Cessare, which is also part of the WRC round and is an uphill road with the roughest stone and dirt combination. This strech of road was used twice on Saturday, and the day winner, former World Champion, Gabriel Pozo clinched for victory using the same set of tyres all day....

Finally, the rally was won by Gabriel Pozo (Subauy), followed by Federico Valligra (Mitsubishi) and Sebastian Beltran (Subaru). Silverstone tyres excelled in such roungh conditions and all the drivers showed that they were happy with the election.
